President Vjosa Osmani congratulated Spain on taking the leadership of the presidency of the European Union, as she stated that during this period , she expects to continue the efforts to bring Kosovo closer to the EU.
The head of the state also thanked Sweden, who led in the past six months with the presidency of the EU.
“As Sweden ends its Presidency of the Council of the EU, I thank the Swedish Prime Minister, Ulf Kristersson, for his leadership and commitment to security and stability in Europe. We expect to continue our efforts to bring Kosovo closer to the EU during 2023 and we wish Spain a successful presidency”, Osmani wrote on Twitter.
Spain has today taken the leadership of the presidency of the European Union, which will hold until the end of December this year.
Spain is one of the 5 EU members which has not yet recognized Kosovo’s independence.
